At Ubuntu Leaders Academy (ULA), we take the privacy very seriously.
This policy outlines our commitment to protecting the privacy of personal information and sets out the steps we take to ensure that such information is collected, used, stored, and processed in accordance with relevant data protection laws and regulations.
“Personal data” is any information, of any nature and whatever form, relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to a name, an identification number/taxpayer number, location data, an online identifier or other specific elements related to the physical, physiological, genetic or economic identity of that natural person.
This policy applies to all personal data collected, stored, used, or processed by ULA in the course of our business activities.
I hereby grant to the ULA the following permissions;
I consent that the ULA Team can safely store and process my contact details and information about my venture, with trusted and secure data processors, and share that information with our UUN community members and partners (including funding partners and ecosystem partners) only for opportunities relevant to me and my venture.
I consent to be contacted periodically by ULA and partners regarding relevant updates, offers and opportunities from ULA and the field of social innovation (our newsletter).
I can unsubscribe from updates at any time and can ask for my data to be fully or partially deleted or rectified at any time by writing to unitednations@ubuntuleadersacademy.org. We are strongly committed to data privacy and hereby guarantee that:
- You can request to learn anytime which of your contact details and information is being stored. You can also request that just certain information will be deleted. You can do so by reaching out to unitednations@ubuntuleadersacademy.org.
- We will not share your details outside our network and never sell your data.
- Important note: The consent for all above mentioned services is voluntary. You can refuse it without giving reasons and without being subject to any disadvantages because of it, besides not being able to use ULA services. Please be aware however that by not giving consent here we will not be able to contact you to inform you of upcoming opportunities.
We process your data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. However, ULA may store them for a longer period, whenever:
a) There is a time period determined by the law.
b) There is a time recommended by the National Data Protection Authority (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, hereinafter referred to as “CNPD”).
c) They are processed for statistical purposes;
d) They are necessary for the declaration, exercise or defense of a right in judicial proceedings.
As an example, we keep for 10 years the necessary data for accounting, tax or commercial bookkeeping purposes.
Once the maximum retention period has been reached, your personal data will be irreversibly anonymized (the anonymized data may be preserved) or will be destroyed securely.
If you have any questions or concerns about our data protection policy, please do not hesitate to contact us at unitednations@ubuntuleadersacademy.org.
We may update this policy from time to time, and any changes will be posted on this website.
