Biography

Licypriya Kangujam is a young environmental activist from India. Knowen as one of the world’s youngest climate activists, she made a significant impact by addressing global leaders during the 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Madrid, Spain where she urged world leaders to take immediate action against climate change.
Since 2018, Licypriya has been actively campaigning in India, aiming to enact new legislation to combat the country’s high pollution levels and advocating for mandatory climate change education in schools.

Licypriya engaged in this active role in 2018. Following the example of the activist Greta Thunberg, she embarked on a week-long protest outside the Indian Parliament House on June 21, 2019, to catch the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and push for the implementation of climate change policies in India.
