Regulation

The second edition of the Ubuntu United Nations (UUN) is an initiative of the Ubuntu Leaders Academy and the Ubuntu Global Network. It will promote ethics of care, building of bridges and servant leadership, underpinned by the Ubuntu philosophy and it will be implemented for young people and with young people from all around the world.

The UUN is going to be composed of 3-member youth delegations from each of the 193 countries with a seat at the United Nations. These members are elected given their strong commitment to serving their communities for the common good.
English is the working language of the Ubuntu United Nations.

Target Group

People with availability and willingness to attend the entire training program
Young people from the 193 countries with a seat at the United Nations
Aged between 18 and 35 years old, with a strong commitment to serving the common good of their communities
Easy access to the internet from a computer
English language fluency (upper-intermediate to advanced level)
People motivated to participate in the Ubuntu United Nations (2nd edition)
Alignment with the values, principles and purpose of the initiative

Training Venue

This training will take place in an online format, through the Zoom platform.

Applications

Ubuntu United Nations participants will be selected from applications submitted by 31 of March 2024 through:

Completing the online application form :
Upload on the online application form a YouTube link containing a 3-minute video (max), in English, introducing yourself and letting us know about your motivation to attend the Ubuntu training;
Upload on the online application form a personal passport-size photo or equivalent.

Selection process

3 participants will be selected per country. The jury will be made up of members of the Ubuntu Leaders Academy, members of the Ubuntu Global Network, and other relevant partners.
After analyzing the applications, the candidates will be contacted, via email, to join the group for the 2nd Edition of the Ubuntu United Nations.

Costs

Participation in the Ubuntu United Nations (2nd edition) is entirely free of charge.

Attendance

Full attendance is required (including the Ubuntu United Nations launching event). 

Project evaluation

The Ubuntu Leaders Academy and the Ubuntu Global Network attach great importance to the evaluation, so each training session is subjected to qualitative evaluation and impact assessment, whose results will be presented at the end of the entire training process. 

Certificate of participation

The Ubuntu Leaders Academy and the Ubuntu Global Network will award a certificate of participation at the end of the training program, to all participants who have fully attended the sessions and complied with the regulations of the Ubuntu United Nations (2nd edition).
